Rapid Weight Loss vs. Slow Weight Loss
When it comes to wanting to drop the pounds, many people find themselves thinking that it is possible to drop a couple of inches in a day or two and lose all of their unwanted weight in a matter of a couple of weeks. The reason for this false hope is because of all of the television and radio commercials that claim that their products can offer such results. As a nation, we are obsessed with instant gratification and these rapid weight loss products cater to that.
Those looking to drop weight extremely fast will generally find that it is near impossible. The diets that claim to work wonders in days actually end up slowing down your metabolism. Even though the diet plan consists of very few calories being taken in, the weight is not coming off like it should. And if by chance you are able to drop some of those unwanted pounds through these scam diets, the results never last. In fact, most of the weight lost is water weight and it is quickly regained.
No matter how tempting it is to try all of the latest diets and fads, slow and steady is much healthier for your body. You’ll have a better chance at dropping the weight for good if you simply go the slower route. By getting on a diet plan that works with your body, instead of against it, you will see results that can very well last a lifetime as long as you keep up the good habits learned along the way.
You have to keep a positive mindset though and keep the goal in mind as slow weight loss isn’t always exciting. But losing only one to two pounds a week is what is healthy. Anything more and you could very well be putting your body at risk for a lot of unpleasant side effects. The amount of weight that you will drop each week will vary as your body is always adjusting and changing. It will also depend on the amount of exercise you put in that week too.
Once you have your daily diet and exercise routine set in place you need to make sure you are also drinking enough water. Water is what will help flush your system of unwanted toxins and it will ensure that you remain hydrated while exercising. Along with the internal benefits that water gives, you will also notice a healthy skin complexion, which is a wonderful added bonus.
In the end, if you really want to turn your life around, lose the weight, and be healthy while doing it, you need to stay away from all of the diets that claim they can provide instant results. They are not trying to help you but only trying to help themselves through product sales. Slow and steady truly does win the race in this case so stick with your game plan and in no time at all, you will be able to see a new you looking back in the mirror.
