Finding Motivation to Lose Weight

Finding motivation to lose weight can be a very challenging thing to do, but if you want to be successful in losing any weight at all then you need to find something that will keep you motivated. Different things keep different people motivated so you just need to find what works for you. If you need to, keep trying different ways until you find something that works.

Here are some things that may help you in finding motivation to lose weight:

  • Photos – Cut out photos of a body type that you are working towards. It doesn’t have to be a super model who wears a size zero, just somebody you see in a magazine or newspaper that has a healthy, fit, muscular body.
  • Motivational Quotes – Print off, or just write down some motivational quotes that you come across in your daily life. It could be quotes from fitness magazines, an internet website, something you’ve heard a family member say, etc. It could be directly related to losing weight and getting fit, or it could just be a quote about determination or goal-setting.
  • Create A Vision Board – This is what I personally use and it works great for me. It’s actually a combination of everything because you cut out motivational pictures and quotes and put them all on to a piece of poster board. Hang it up some place where you will see it often. I personally hang mine right in front of my treadmill so that I can see it when I’m running. I have the hardest time with cardio – I HATE it – but looking up at the vision board really does keep me pushing along. My vision board
  • Take photos – Take photos of yourself every 4 weeks if you’re working out regularly. There is no doubt that you will see improvements if you’ve been working hard and by working hard I mean participating in strength training and cardio for 3 to 5 days every single week. Seeing those improvements should be one of your biggest motivations to keep going.

As you can see, finding motivation to lose weight isn’t really that difficult, you just need to find what works for you. When you find what works for you, just stick with it!
