Michelle Obama’s Arm Workout: Go Sleeveless

First lady Michelle Obama seems to be known not only for her husband being president, but also because of the great shape she is in, most noticeably her arms. She has been working with a personal trainer out of Chicago named Cornell McClellan since 1997. Since then, she has worked out with him just under 2,000 times which equals out to a workout every 2 to 3 days. Now that is dedication. Working out regularly will give you great results, the hardest part is sticking to it and making fitness a part of life.

Michelle Obama’s arm workout consists of a superset routine performing 2 to 3 sets of 2 arm exercises without any rest in between exercises.

Exercise #1: Tricep Pushdown with Reverse Grip

Perform 15 reps with palms facing down, then flip the grip and perform 15 reps with an underhand grip and then immediately move on to exercise 2.

Exercise #2: 1 Minute Hammer Curls

Hold a dumbbell in each hand and alternately curl each arm up as far as you can and then slowly lower back down to your side. Continue hammer curls for 1 full minute.

Once you have completed each exercise, go right back into the first exercise and go through the routine a total of 2 to 3 times. Your arms will really feel the burn. I’ve always been a huge fan of supersets and now I understand how Michelle Obama’s arm workout gives her the toned arms she shows off in sleeveless tops and dresses so well. Who can blame her?
