Finding Motivation to Lose Weight – A Vision Board

If you aren’t sure of what a vision board is, take a look at the photo in this post. This is a vision board I have made to help keep me motivated to work out. I keep it hung on the wall in the basement right in front of my treadmill. I HATE to run, but having the vision board up where I can see it when I’m running, really helps to keep me going.

Vision boards are a great way to express your creativity, but mostly people make them to help keep themselves focused on a particular goal – whether it be weight loss, a new car, building a home…etc.

Here is what I used to create my vision board:

  • 1 piece of foam board
  • 1 piece of poster board
  • women’s fitness magazines
  • 1 glue stick
  • pretty letters to spell out my name (optional…haha)

Directions:vision-board

  • Glue the poster board to the foam board (the foam piece is actually optional, but it does make the board a lot more sturdy versus just using a piece of poster board – especially if you’re going to hang it up on a wall)
  • Cut out photos, phrases, quotes, motivational text, etc. out of the magazines. Cut out anything that inspires you or motivates you. Ex. If you’re looking to really sculpt your abs, then you’d want to cut out some photos of amazing abs.
  • Cut out workouts/recipes that you might want to use – I added some of these to my vision board too. It’s always fun to try new workouts.

If you have made a vision board or are thinking about making one, I would love to see it!
