Cardio Day (HIIT) + New Fitness Articles

Today was cardio day for me. I did my normal HIIT (high intensity interval training) 20 minute workout and it was insane! I’m setting a goal for myself to do this HIIT workout 3 times per week, with a full body workout 2 to 30 days per week. I’m always great with the strength training, but I suck at keeping regular with cardio. I do it at least once or twice a week, but I’d like to bump it up to 3 days.

Here’s the workout that I perform on a flat treadmill with no incline:

Warmup for 3 minutes @ 3.5 mph

30 second sprints at minutes 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 (sprints at a 9 mph pace, I bumped this up from 8 mph)

Each sprint followed by 90 seconds of walking at a 4.0 mph pace

The reason I don’t do incline is because it builds up my thighs and butt really quickly and then I can’t fit into my pants. So lately I’ve been doing it flat and I’m not having that issue any more.
