5/15 Workout: Legs, Abs & Cardio

I finally got a good workout in today! I concentrated mostly on abs and cardio, but I did work on my quads a little bit too. I really wanted pizza for dinner tonight so I did a longer cardio session than I normally do. I use MyFitnessPal.com to track my calories – it’s a free calorie counter and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs some help in determining how many calories they should be consuming to lose weight.

Anyway, here’s the workout I did today:

Legs:

Squats -  3 sets of 35# x 12

Leg extensions – 3 sets of 43# x 12 (no, that isn’t a typo, it was 43.)

Abs:

Bicycle crunch – 3 sets x 15 reps

Exercise ball roll-ins – 3 sets x 15 reps

Hanging knee raises – 3 sets x 15 reps – I also held a 5# dumbbell with my legs throughout each set

Cardio:

5 minute warmup @ 4.5 mph

Various intervals for 20 minutes

21 minutes @ 4.2 mph
