4/30: Women’s Leg Workout – NEW!

split squats - women's leg workoutHappy last day of April! I can’t believe tomorrow is already May 1st. I did a women’s leg workout today that’s different from any other leg workout I’ve ever done and I really liked it. I tried to keep it a little light by skipping deadlifts because I have plans to do the 36th Annual Walk for Animals tomorrow morning – as long as it doesn’t rain! It’s about a 5 mile walk so I didn’t want my legs to be feeling too sore. I’m not sure how good I did regarding that because they’re pretty sore and tired already. Walking should help them feel pretty good though.

I haven’t ever tried the split squat or the exercise ball hamstring curl before but I loved them both! The split squats are a lot harder than I thought they’d be, but I think they’re now one of my favorite leg exercises, next to deadlifts of course. :)

Great workout plan. I just put up a new post about the backsquat. Your split squat (I’m guessing you mean lunge?) is a great workout. Great workout regimen!

It’s very similar to a lunge. I copied the workout from the most recent Muscle and Fitness Hers so I just followed the exercise names they used. These things made my glutes sore for a good 5 days!

      Thanks for stopping by, Ben!

  2. I love the Ball Hamstring Curl with my clients. You can make this exercise as hard or as easy as you want to. Keep you hands off the floor when you do them and create a less stable environment to make your hamstrings work harder!

I can only imagine what would happen to me if I took my hands off the floor. LOL! Someday I hope to get there though. It’s a great exercise!

I love dead lifting too! :) It’s so empowering.

Women have definitely strong legs by nature. This workout is awesome. I noticed that by having stronger legs… my stamina has improved a lot. Especially in running. Thanks for the tip. I will definitely forward this to my readers.
