Tomorrow (11/19) on the Rachael Ray show, there will be a woman featured on the show who has lost a total of 6 pounds in just 2 days by following the 400 Calorie Fix Diet. This diet claims you can eat whatever you want and still lose weight by eating 4 – 400 calorie meals per day. The bare minimum number of calories a person should be consuming in one 24-hour period is 1,200 so this diet is pretty much spot on if one were to eat 3 – 400 calorie meals per day. If you were to eat 4 – 400 calorie meals per day, you would be consuming 1,600 calories. Some people don’t require that many calories in one day. Keep in mind that each person’s caloric needs are different and will vary because of weight, metabolic rate, muscle to fat ratio, etc.
This new diet comes from Prevention and they’re going to have a recipe book coming out in the near future with over 4oo recipes and meals along with a diet plan to help you lose up to 10 pounds in 2 weeks.

Just off the top of my head, here’s an example of about what 400 calories is:
- 2 slices whole wheat toast (140)
- 2 T peanut butter (190)
- 1 cup skim milk (80)
Total Calories: 410
The 400 Calorie Fix might be a good diet to try if you are wanting to lose a few pounds for an upcoming event, like a wedding or something, but it’s still a pretty unhealthy way to lose weight. A loss of more than 1 to 2 pounds per week is considered to be unhealthy. Plus it’s so important to eat a variety of healthy foods and not just fill your body with 1,600 calories of whatever you’d like to put into it.
The best way to lose weight for the long term and actually keep it off, is by figuring out how many calories you should be consuming per day to achieve weight loss, eating a healthy diet and following a regular exercise program. (Since the 400 Calorie Fix book isn’t out yet, I have been unable to find what the exercise requirements are, if any.)
I’ll be sure to tune in to this RR episode to see what this lady has to say about the 400 Calorie Fix. I’m interested in seeing if she is still using the diet and how she likes it.

i always monitor my calorie intake from my diet because i have a very slow metabolism and i dont want to get overweight.;*-
Hiya, I am really glad I’ve found this information. Nowadays bloggers publish only about gossips and web and this is really irritating. A good website with interesting content, that’s what I need. Thank you for keeping this site, I’ll be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Can’t find it.
I don’t do newsletters at this time (I really should though, might work on that!), but I do have an RSS feed you can subscribe to.
