Today I did a new leg workout and I can already tell it was a good one because my legs are feeling like Jell-O! I did a couple of new leg exercises that I haven’t ever tried before and I really like them. I also set a personal best for squats which I’m kinda proud of!
Women’s Leg Workout
Barbell Squats
- 1 set x 10 reps, 90# (previous best!)
- 1 set x 8 reps, 95#
- 1 set x 6 reps, 100#
Dumbbell Step-Up – *These were a lot tougher than I thought they would be, especially after heavy squats!
- 1 set x 10 reps, 8#
- 1 set x 8 reps, 10#
- 1 set x 6 reps, 15#
Sumo Squats with dumbbell – *Also referred to by some as plie squats.
- 1 set x 10 reps, 30#
- 1 set x 8 reps, 35#
- 1 set x 6 reps, 40#
Stiff-legged Dumbbell Deadlift to Calf Raise
*Oh how I’ve missed deadlifts and am so happy I’m finally doing them again. Even though they aren’t as heavy because dumbbells are being used I still love them.
- 1 set x 10 reps, 15#
- 1 set x 8 reps, 20#
- 1 set x 6 reps, 25#
This is a really great workout that I enjoyed doing and would recommend it to anyone who wants to tone and strengthen their legs. You’ll work the quads, hamstrings and calf muscles with this leg workout.
